IZ Jazz, the duet of Ira Rosenberg and Zida Borcich, bring to their performances engaging interpretations of Standards from the 30s, 40s, and 50s; some Blues numbers; a show tune or something a little nutty tossed in once in a while, all of which they spike with their relaxed, erudite, playful banter about the tunes they choose. They treat every song as the story it’s meant to be—the lyrics and melodies, so packed with feeling, humor, heartache and joy. IZ Jazz delivers the groove and intention of each one authentically, artfully, soulfully, feelingly.
