John Elliott is a human, the most common and widespread species of primate. He does many things, among them writing songs and performing them. He has been releasing albums and performing in every type of venue you can imagine since the late 90s, touring in 49 of the 50 states and all over Europe. He went viral once and doesn’t necessarily recommend it. He loves YouTube and the literary magazine “The Sun.” He believes most urban car trips can be replaced by walking, transit, or riding a bike. His band, The Band of Supervisors, is a group of musicians from the Bay Area and beyond, representing multiple counties and jurisdictions. It is an evolving Americana-Rock-Folk-Joy-Jam band that plays original music from John's many albums of almost hits and near misses. The Ponies of Harmony are a harmony singing songwriting duo of multi-instrumentalists Katie Belknap (clarinet, guitar) and James Zeller (trombone, guitar). They are like two wild horses, these ponies, bandits of love roaming the peripheries. They long for their music to bring peace to each other and to their listeners, then often find their manes tangled in the briars, their hooves tattered, often a back leg limping. But they just as often find themselves waking up on a fine morning, finding their stride is still there, grabbing their instruments, climbing aboard their trusted steeds (bicycles), racing off to a farmers market or an anti-war event, and summoning the strength to somehow continue the fight for a different world with the not-so-secret weapon feared by all tyrants and fascists: music and poetry. www.poniesofharmony.bandcamp.com
